TapDesk: Phone Remote Control

TapDesk lets you view and control your own Android phone from a browser, after you start the session and approve the permissions. It is a remote-help tool for a phone you own or a phone whose owner is with you and has agreed. It is not a monitoring, tracking, or hidden-control product.

1. What you control

• The launcher icon stays visible. TapDesk does not hide itself.
• A remote session starts only after you open it in the app and enter the pairing PIN on the computer.
• You can stop a session in the app, turn off Accessibility, stop screen capture, or uninstall at any time.
• We do not require a TapDesk account.

2. Information used to run a session

• Screen — shown in the browser only after you approve Android’s screen-capture prompt. A notification stays visible while sharing is on. TapDesk does not start screen capture by itself in the background, and Novixa-Labs does not store a history of your screen. The app does not use the broad “see all installed apps” permission. It can show launcher apps so you can open one during a session.
• Accessibility — not an accessibility tool for disabilities. Before you can turn it on, TapDesk shows a disclosure. You then enable the service yourself in Android settings. It performs taps, swipes, navigation, and text input requested from a browser session you paired. It does not decide or act on its own, and it does not bypass Android security screens on its own.
• Pairing PIN and room code — generated on the phone so the computer can join. Treat them as secrets.
• Same Wi-Fi — traffic stays between the phone and the computer on your local network. The desk page is loaded from our website and then served by the phone so the browser can reach it.
• Another network — the phone and browser meet through an encrypted WebRTC connection. A public MQTT broker carries signaling only (not a stored screen recording). A TURN relay may be used when a direct path is impossible.

3. Ads and TapDesk Pro

Same Wi-Fi remote control is free. The free app may show a banner at the top of the screen and a limited number of full-screen ads after you take an action (at most a few per visit, with a pause between them). Secure Link, for a computer that is not on the same Wi-Fi, can be opened for one session by watching an optional rewarded video. TapDesk Pro (product id tapdesk_pro) is a one-time Google Play purchase on your Google account. It removes ads and includes Secure Link without a video each time. Same Wi-Fi stays free either way. Purchases are processed by Google. Where required, we show Google’s consent form before requesting personalized ads. Advertising partners may include Google AdMob and, as a fallback, Unity Ads.

4. Analytics and crashes

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand feature use and fix crashes. This is separate from advertising. We do not sell this data. You can limit ad personalization in your device settings and, where offered, in Ad privacy inside the app.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not use the app to secretly watch another person.
• We do not direct TapDesk at children under 13.
